Welcome to Our New Roseville Location!

If you’re looking for the best learning environment for your student for the 2023-2024 school year, you’ve come to the right place! Mid-Metro Academy is pleased to announce that we'll be meeting at our New Roseville campus beginning September 8. We believe students learn best in a dynamic, interactive, in-person setting. Our classes meet at Advent Lutheran Church on a beautiful wooded campus in a quiet suburban neighborhood. Questions? Email [email protected].

Mid-Metro Academy provides support to homeschooling families by offering a variety of academic, arts, technology, and career-oriented classes. Classes are taught from a foundation of Christian values by instructors who are qualified in their respective fields and are passionate about helping youth achieve their highest potential. Classes are open to homeschooled students in grades 6 - 12 whose families have joined Mid-Metro Academy as members.

Our classes meet on Mondays and Fridays for fifteen weeks in the fall/winter and fifteen weeks in the winter/spring. Families choose the class or classes that will help them meet their educational goals for their students. We provide a positive, supportive environment while delivering instruction that homeschooling parents may not feel prepared to provide personally to their students.

To get a feel for what it's like at MMA, check out our Photo Albums. It's an awesome learning community.

Summer Open House Video

If you missed our Summer Open House, no worries! Watch the video to catch up on our exciting plans for 2023-2024. Although our fall classes are already underway, we're still accepting new families for our fall mini-courses and for our Spring 2024 semester, which begins on January 15, 2024. Even if you started out the school year at a public school, it's not too late to homeschool for 2023-2024. In Minnesota, parents can decide to remove their student from public school to homeschool at their discretion. Visit MACHE.org for details on how to withdraw your student mid-year.

Parents: We Make Your Life Easier!

Mid-Metro Academy exists to support parents in their family's homeschooling goals. The primary way we do that is by providing classes that you can't or don't want to teach yourself.

But there's more! We help you in lots of other ways, too.

We offer an on-site Parent Lounge where you can get your own work done while your student attends classes. That can cut your driving time and expense in half since you don't have to drop off, go home, and return to campus.

We share tips with our families on how to make class days more efficient--whether through carpooling or taking advantage of the amenities in our neighborhood.

We connect you with resources that help you plan for high school and beyond.

Parents are welcome to enroll in some of our classes with students. Taking Swing Dancing with your student can be a fun bonding experience. Our Friday art classes are open to parents, so whether you want to craft unique items for Christmas gift-giving or develop that latent artistic bent, you can get in on the fun and learning in Suzann Beck's classes.

How about learning a skill that will allow you to work from home? Bookkeeping for Adults meets on Fridays. Or if you want to learn foundational computer skills, attend a workshop or mini-course designed just for parents--taught by Chris Paschen. It's never too late to learn and grow! Register today!

Prepare Your Student to Thrive in the Gig Economy

What's the gig economy, and why should you make sure your student is ready to successfully participate in it? The gig economy is growing three times faster than traditional employment. It's quickly moving from a fringe segment of the U.S. job market to a mainstream option.

Gig employment offers significant benefits like

  • flexibility
  • excellent balance between work and personal life
  • impressive job satisfaction levels.

And it presents the potential for three-figure incomes for those who excel in their chosen specialty.

Whether your student intends to use gig work as a side hustle or as an end career goal, he or she can get started now. Mid-Metro Academy classes help students gain both the soft skills and technical skills they need to succeed in today's--and tomorrow's--gig economy.

We Offer the Best of Both Worlds in 2023-2024!

Homeschooling offers flexibility, ensures that students are educated in a way that's consistent with their family's values, and helps students become independent, lifelong learners. But when students enter their teen years, parents may feel less confident in teaching all subjects at home. And teens benefit from having teachers who aren't Mom or Dad. Our homeschool academy offers the benefits of homeschooling and attending in-person classes.

Since our classes meet once a week, students and families enjoy the flexibility and convenience of the hybrid/blended model that works so well with the homeschooling lifestyle. Choose to attend classes on one or two days: Mondays and/or Fridays. Our teachers use a flipped-classroom approach, which means that students access content at home through various media including video, textbooks, and handouts. Depending on the class, they’ll have homework that helps them apply what they’ve accessed. When students come to class each week, they’ll engage in social learning activities like discussions, group projects, simulations, and experiments plus get real-time feedback from their teacher. These kinds of experiences make learning stick—even as they build soft skills like teamwork, communication, and resilience.

Now is the time to make plans for 2023-2024 school year. Most of our classes are still open, but many have just a seat or two available. Classes begin September 8 and September 11; new students will be accepted through the second week of classes with instructor approval. If you're intrigued by how our homeschool academy makes it possible and even easy to homeschool your student through high school, email [email protected]. We have room for you!
