Sample 5th & 6th Grade Plan

Every student is unique. One of the best things about homeschooling is that you can customize your student’s schedule based on his or her skill level, needs, and interests. Grade levels are less important than learning and mastery. It’s not unusual for a student to work at one level in one subject—for example, math or science—and a grade ahead or behind in another—for example, English.

With that in mind, here’s a sample plan for how a student COULD move through the major subject areas at Mid-Metro Academy (English, Science, Math, Social Studies) during fifth and sixth grades. Keep in mind that the way your child SHOULD progress is based on your goals and his or her unique abilities and interests, not on any pre-set formula.
