Ultimate Frisbee Tournament
Mavericks Ultimate is excited to announce Harvest Huckfest on November 14th. Bring your ultimate-playing friends, everyone's welcome! For more on the hat tournament format and event details, keep reading. See you on the fields!
What is a hat tournament: These are tournaments where players join individually rather than as a team, and teams are created by drawing names from a hat. Despite the name, many tournament organizers no longer use a hat to decide teams. On most occasions (including for Harvest Huckfest), teams are selected by splitting players down into skill, position (handler/thrower, or cutter/receiver), and gender, provided by the player when they sign up. They spread these factors evenly across the teams so that in theory all teams are evenly matched and players play with at least some people they've never met before. Hat tournaments are primarily for having fun, socializing, and meeting other players. Players of all levels take part, from world-class players to complete beginners.
When: November 14, 2026. Check-in and warm-ups start at 8am, games begin at 9am, wrapping up by 1:30pm.
Where: Cambridge-Isanti Soccer Club - 950 3rd Ave NW, Isanti, MN 55040
Who: All skill levels welcome! This tournament will be 13+ to ensure safe playing conditions for all on the field. The tournament is mixed-gender/co-ed.
Cost: $15/player
Registration: Complete this Google form and submit payment via Venmo (@davidmoore7, last four 0466). If registering more than one player at a time, please put name(s) (first and last) of each player you are registering in the Venmo description.
Additional Information:
- Ratio of female players to male players for game play is TBD based on registration.
- Baggage groups (or partners) of two will be allowed. Both people who want to be partnered must indicate so in the "Name of baggage request" section of the Google form; teams will be randomized beyond that.
- Further logistics for the event (final schedule, game length, scoring/stall format, field map, team rosters) will be sent about a week before the day of the event.
- If there is enough interest, there is also the potential to host a 5-12 year old age division. For those who choose to fill out that question on the Google form, please indicate each potential player's name, age, and gender.
We hope you can join us!
