Teaching Opportunities

Mid-Metro Academy is seeking to fill the following teaching positions for the 2020-2021 school year. Classes are taught in-person at our St. Paul location. If you’re interested in one of these opportunities, please send a letter of inquiry to director@midmetroacademy.com.


High School Teacher: Build Your Own Website

This class meets for two semesters from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays (15 consecutive weeks in fall/winter and 15 consecutive weeks in winter/spring). Candidate must have experience with and be able to teach Wordpress and basic website languages (HTML, JavaScript, and CSS) in an interactive environment.


High School Teacher: User Experience Design

This class meets for two semesters from 2:00 to 3:30 on Wednesdays (15 consecutive weeks in fall/winter and 15 consecutive weeks in winter/spring). Candidate must have experience in and be able to teach UX/UI in an interactive environment including wireframing tools (such as Balsamiq, Mockflow, or Adobe Suite). The candidate should be able to teach the basics of user research, prototyping, persona-building, site-mapping, etc. Finally, the ideal candidate would be able to apply the user experience project to a Wordpress-based website.


High School Teacher: Graphic Design

This class meets for two semesters from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays (15 consecutive weeks in fall/winter and 15 consecutive weeks in winter/spring). Candidate must have graphic arts experience, primarily with Adobe Suite skills. Secondarily, the candidate should have experience with wireframing, site mapping, and non-coding site builder plug-ins for Wordpress sites (such as Elementor or Divi).


PSEO Teacher: Applied Math and Personal Finance

This college-level class meets fall semester (15 consecutive weeks) on Tuesdays from 8:00 – 10:30. Candidate must have an advanced degree in Mathematics, Personal Finance, or related field and if hired will be an employee of North Central University. This class reviews algebra but emphasizes practical applications such as insurance, mortgages, debt, and investments.


PSEO Teacher: Science, Technology, and Society

This college-level class meets spring semester (15 consecutive weeks) on Tuesdays (time TBD). Candidate must have an advanced degree in a science-related field and if hired will be an employee of North Central University. This course focuses on contemporary science and technology issues that affect our day-to-day lives and aims to teach students science literacy and reasoned discourse in a dynamic, interactive environment.
