What Is Mid-Metro Academy’s PSEO Program?
Pre-planned PSEO with Mid-Metro Academy is:
- a package of pre-selected classes
- that students take with their cohort
- core competencies,
- reasoned discourse,
- and global awareness.
Our unique approach to PSEO, designed specifically for homeschooled juniors and seniors, is not available anywhere else. We partner with North Central University in Minneapolis to provide a cohesive package of courses in a once-a-week face-to-face classroom format. Credentialed NCU professors deliver the course content in a dynamic, interactive environment that engages students and results in deeper learning and stronger relationships among students.
Classes meet on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at our St. Paul location (St. Mark’s School, 1983 Dayton Ave., St. Paul). Students take three three-credit courses each semester with the same group of students—their cohort. After two years in the program, students will have earned 36 college credits across all 10 goal areas of the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum, assuring that students have a broad liberal arts core of general education credits that they can present to whatever college or university they attend after high school graduation.
While Mid-Metro Academy and North Central University can’t guarantee that all courses will transfer to any given institution, we’ve chosen courses that match the general education requirements of many post-secondary schools, both public and private. North Central University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
The registration process includes applying for PSEO with North Central University and joining Mid-Metro Academy. After that, course registration is handled for you for the entire year, adding to the convenience of our program.
