This spring-semester course meets on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Classes are 90 minutes long and meet for 15 weeks in the spring (January - April). The teacher will be engaging and able to teach a range of techniques as well as lead students through a variety of hands-on exercises and assignments. A four-year degree is not required; we will consider someone who is enthusiastic, loves teaching teens, and has real-world experience.

Interior Design

This could be a single-semester or full-year course. The ideal teacher will have educational and/or work experience in the field of interior design. The course should include instruction in design principles and should give students plenty of weekly practice in applying the concepts to their own projects. This class meets on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:00 OR 2:00 to 3:30.

Creative Illustration

This class could be a full-year or single-semester option. The focus should be on teaching students how to create simple illustrations for their own enjoyment or for potential use in a variety of commercial applications, from advertising and marketing to manual and book illustrations. New techniques should be taught each week, and students should be given time to practice under the teacher's supervision during the class period, which is 90 minutes. This class meets on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:00 OR 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Arts/Crafts/Design

Do you have an idea for a single-semester or full-year class in an area of art, crafts, and/or design? We'd like to hear from you. We're open to any class that would be appropriate for sixth to twelfth graders or a subset of that range. Possibilities include fashion and accessory design, sewing, specialty painting, and needlework such as embroidery, knitting, or crocheting. A four-year degree is not required; we will consider someone who is enthusiastic, loves teaching teens, and has real-world experience.
